Only problem, it is not true. Read this article from the Annapolis newspaper, The Capital, Obama bans mids' swords at graduation - not! The article states that "swords have not been worn by midshipmen at graduations for some considerable time." I agree, I graduated in 1981 and we didn't wear swords. There were restriction on items that could be brought to graduation, as usual, and the list included "[o]utside food or drink."
So many lies, so little integrity. But what do you expect from a Republi-con.
Which brings me back to Pastor Poppins, someone wrote a letter to the editor which was printed in the June 25, 2009 edition of the local mullet wrapper. I couldn't find it online but here is what was said:

I think WEBY radio's morning talk show hosts, Mike Mashburn and Carl Gallups, are probably plants put there by the Obama administration.
I think I've figured what's going on with these two. The purposely go so far over the top with their goofy criticisms of Obama because they know that will make the audience think those opposed to Obama are just a bunch of eccentrics and it will actually serve to garner support for Obama.
I don't think there can be any other explanation for it.

Unfortunately Bob, there is another explanation. Some people are so blinded by hate they are confused by facts and logic. And although Pastor Poppins, AKA Carl Gallups, claims to be a man of God, the devil has blinded him, so that now he is a true brither.
Understand, I have no problem with a lively discussion and debate about the issues, but lies and illogic only serve to undermine credibility.
I suggest praying that God will open Pastor Poppins' eyes so that he may see the futility in his evil rhetoric. Until then, call in and tell him why he is wrong.

On THIS website, under "Blog Needs a Radio Show" I clicked on the 'without the bull' link and was pleased to read the article about a book entitled 'On Bull&^%$'. Here's a sample from the article which explains some of my questions about the outright BS put out there mostly by the right and most egregiously yesterday by a pastor poppins:
The bull artist, on the other hand, cares nothing for truth or falsehood. The only thing that matters to him is "getting away with what he says," Mr. Frankfurt writes. An advertiser or a politician or talk show host given to [bull] "does not reject the authority of the truth, as the liar does, and oppose himself to it," he writes. "He pays no attention to it at all."
I have wondered if these people are just ignorant, if they actually believe the BS they are spouting, if they have no respect for themselves or the listeners,if they have no regard for the truth, if they are too lazy to actually research a topic, if they just enjoy adding uninformed hatred and narrow minded bigotry into the public discussion or what?
Of all things I discovered that I have on hand a copy of the 'On BS' book by Harry G. Frankfurt which I intend to read now that it has been brought back to mind. It is available on amazon.com new $9.95, used under $4 if anyone is interested.
I think Pastor Carl and others like him,think they are following the Christian way but are deceived about the politics of our country.
They do not have an understanding of how the big corporations run our country. They do not realize how the corporate structure is not Biblical.
So they support the Republicans thinking that they are more Christians.
They also do not realize that they should be voting for those who will put the law making ability back in the state legislatures. They think they have to rely on 5 people who are not elected to make the laws for 300 million people. Then they call this a representative republic!
